Advanced ULD Handling System for WFS at Madrid Barajas Airport (MAD)

SACO is proud to partner with Worldwide Flight Services (WFS) in the development of an advanced Unit Load Device (ULD) handling system at their new facility at Madrid Barajas Airport (MAD), Spain. The primary objective of this project is to ensure the safe and efficient handling of ULDs within this state-of-the-art facility, which has direct airside access.

This fully integrated handling system is designed to improve cargo throughput, minimize handling times, and ensure operational safety, positioning WFS’s new facility at Madrid Barajas Airport as a key hub for efficient ULD management in Spain.

ULD Handling System Project for Havas at Istanbul Airport

In a significant development aimed at enhancing cargo handling efficiency, SACO has been entrusted with the design and implementation of an advanced Unit Load Device (ULD) handling system for Havas at Istanbul Airport, Turkey. The scope of supply for this project includes a fully automated electrical control system that will significantly improve the process of loading, unloading, and transporting ULDs.

Air Cargo Handling System for Maersk Eindhoven

We partnered with Maersk in Eindhoven to install a comprehensive Cargo Handling system, designed to enhance their logistics operations. This project included the integration of a specialized Truck Dock for 20 ft containers, featuring dual hydraulic scissor lifts with a lifting speed of 1.8 m/min, and motor-powered 10 ft roller decks to streamline cargo movement. The system also includes advanced components like hydraulic-powered ULD stops, side shift functions, an integrated weighing system, and a capstan winch for additional handling precision. For safety and operational efficiency, we installed heavy-duty crash barriers with rollers, powered lead rollers, and electric controls with an operator panel for seamless control.

Additionally, we provided a BUBD 10 ft lowering workstation, equipped with a hydraulic scissor lift, a flat-top steel deck, and a pit with safety provisions. This system, complete with electric controls, ensures optimal handling and flexibility for Maersk’s diverse cargo needs, reflecting our commitment to delivering tailored and efficient solutions in line with Maersk’s logistics requirements.

Material Handling System Upgrade for the Belgian Military

Following the introduction of the new A400M transport aircraft, the Belgian Military embarked on a comprehensive project to upgrade its material handling equipment. This significant initiative involved a complete redesign of a large-scale warehouse dedicated to the assembly of air pallets, ensuring the facility is fully equipped to support the increased cargo capacity and operational demands of the A400M.

Buffer TEP System for Air France Cargo at Charles de Gaulle Airport

SACO has successfully delivered the advanced Buffer TEP system to Air France Cargo (AFC) at Charles de Gaulle Airport. This cutting-edge ULD transport system is designed to automatically convey ULDs between the truck docking area and the Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV) docking area. While transporting the ULDs, the system continuously monitors their positions and prioritises movements based on operational needs. This innovative solution enhances the efficiency and reliability of Air France Cargo’s logistics operations, ensuring smooth and automated handling of cargo throughout the facility.
