Air Cargo Handling System for SAASA’s New Terminal at Madrid-Barajas
We are proud to announce our partnership with Servicios Aeroportuarios Andinos Global S.L. Madrid (SAASA) for the design, approval, manufacturing, delivery, installation, and commissioning of cargo handling equipment for the newly developed cargo terminal at Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas International Airport.
This state-of-the-art facility, an initiative by Andino Inversiones Global (AIG) and SAASA, marks a major step in enhancing air cargo logistics in Spain. SACO’s advanced air cargo handling equipment, including cold storage facilities for pharmaceuticals, plants, and perishable food products, will ensure efficient and safe air cargo operations at one of Europe’s fastest-growing cargo hubs.
With a capacity of 80,000 tons per year and the creation of 150 direct jobs, this terminal will play a vital role in Madrid’s air cargo expansion, particularly in the growing trade between Asia and Latin America.
The installation of SACO’s cargo handling equipment is scheduled to begin in early 2026, aligning with SAASA’s plan to open the terminal in March 2026.
SACO is honored to be a part of this ambitious project, providing cutting-edge solutions that will optimise cargo handling at Madrid-Barajas. Our equipment will help SAASA and AIG achieve their goal of seamless logistics operations in a rapidly evolving market.
